Viktoriya & Oleg

Viktoriya & Oleg

Viktoriya and Oleg were married on January 12, 2013.  Although not surfers, they love the beach and totally embrace the “Pura Vida” attitude.  Low key, easy going, and stress free are only a few words to describe them.  Don’t let these words fool you though, they have class and they managed to have a wedding that was elegant, classy, completely lovely, but embraced the spirit of Costa Rica.

Viktoriya and Oleg were coming from Canada, but both were raised in Russia, so they know cold weather.  Many of their guests came from Russia.  I remember in the first days of the planning process, Viktoriya sent me a picture of the view from her front window, it looked like 3 feet of snow.  I know they were really looking forward to getting the planning going and begin thinking about their warm weather wedding.  Their wedding was at Reserva Conchal Beach Club, overlooking the beach and ocean.  Their cocktail hour, by the swimming pool, and their dinner in the Beach Club’s restaurant.  It didn’t end there, they then danced until 2:30 in the morning.  It was all in the details though, Tiffany vases for guests, hanging name cards, late night snacks, beaded cake decor, chair covers, and so much more.  Viktoriya had a lot of ideas on how she envisioned the evening and I was looking forward to expanding and working with her on this.  We decided on shades of white and accents of pinks, a lot of draping of material, and fun details and accents.

Viktoriya is a model, but model or not, she is stunning.

These are first looks.  They can’t take a bad picture!

The ceremony was lovely.  The arch of vines with asymmetrical flowers and draped in chains of crystals.

We wanted to create an outdoor space for the dancing, considering they would be spending most of the evening out here.  So we used a lof of lounge furniture, beds, sofas, cocktail tables, and then created a “room” around it with draped linen and romantic lighting with hanging lanterns.

I just love all the reception details we incorporated, including the material puddling off of the chairs, which were specially made for Viktoriya and Oleg.

The escort cards were presented in a canopy, hanging with ribbon, mini roses in a mini vase.  Guests cut them down with antique scissors.  This was a hit.

This shot was only the beginning  of the evening.  Oleg and Viktoriya have been together for a few years now, but I would say a marriage in Costa Rica counts as a good beginning as a married couple!  Congratulations to you both!!!  It was a pleasure!
