Manuel Antonio Weddings

Manuel Antonio is located in the mid-west coast of Costa Rica, where most of the town is located mountain-side, which overlooks the beach.  It’s known for Manuel Antonio National Park, the most popular national park in Costa Rica.  It is one of the most bio-diverse rainforests in the world. We love Manuel Antonio weddings!

Manuel Antonio is located about three and a half hours from Juan Santamaría International Airport (airport code: SJO) in San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital city.  Visitors can rent a car or get a private shuttle, but the easiest way to get to Manuel Antonio is taking a domestic flight into Quepos, about a 20 minute flight from San Jose.  Quepos is about 20 minutes north of Manuel Antonio, a shuttle can easily and inexpensively pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel or rental.

There are a variety of activities in Manuel Antonio, many of which revolve around being outside and enjoying the bio-diversity.  Activities include: hiking through the jungle, bird watching, exploring mangroves, scuba diving, sport fishing, ocean kayaking, horseback riding or river rafting.  Shopping is limited in Manuel Antonio, this is truly a town to visit when you want to relax or enjoy the outdoors.

As explained on the Costa Rica overview page, rainy season on the west coast is generally from May through November, however, it is a rainforest in Manuel Antonio, so rain can come throughout the year.

There are a variety of Manuel Antonio wedding options and combinations for ceremony and receptions.  Below you can see some photos and ideas of what is available.

Luxury Homes

These homes are better for smaller groups.  You can have your ceremony with a view of the ocean and hill-side in the background, followed by your reception, both at the same private location.  Also, consider doing your ceremony on the beach, then head up to your private home for your wedding reception.

Hotel

There are a variety of small boutique hotels available that offer great settings for your ceremony and reception, as well as accommodations for yourself and your guests.
